Sharing Life Through Community Involvement
Jesus was once asked what was the greatest of all the laws in the Bible? It was a trick question, meant to trick Jesus into saying something worthy of condemnation. Jesus said that we should love God with all of our being and that we should love our neighbor as ourselves. To which the questioner asked, "Who them is my neighbor?"

To answer the question Jesus told a story. The story is commonly called the story of the good Samaritan. If you haven't heard of the story you have probably heard of the title derived from this story. The Story is told in Luke 10. Jesus answered this question this way, loving one's neighbor means caring for the needs of those who are around them. At home this means those across the curb. At work it refers to those in the next cubicle. Wherever we find ourselves, we are surrounded by our neighbors.

This gives greater meaning to the idea of helping our neighbors find life in Jesus. This is the meaning behind the "go" in the great commission. As we are going about life's journey, make disciples of those with whom you come in contact. in other words, you neighbors. So here is a question for you...Who is your Neighbor?
